In all these years of organising and perfecting Capetan Charter Skipper Practicewhether it was HOP or HOPA, those we had as students, and now have as friends, fell into two categories: either they were self-pollinated (passions related to boats and sailboats, spending leisure time sailing across seas and seascapes in search of ultimate freedom, a taste for adventure and the unknown), or they were community-pollinated (friends who drew them into weeks of sailing SailArmada, friends who had already done the sailing course with us and got their sailing license, participation in sailing events as crew).
Well, whether you belong to the first or the second group, one thing unites you: the desire to succeed in driving a yacht.
I have to admit that I, in turn, followed a similar path - it all started from a week spent at sea with some friends, during which I had a revelation or, better said, an "epiphany", in which, suddenly, a new horizon opened up to me, a new world that I was eager to discover and explore - to put it bluntly, I wasn't entirely satisfied with the way the boat was organised that week and I was firmly convinced that I could have done it differently, which I ended up doing.
Back on topic, I keep saying that sailing is a powerful virus that catches you quickly, via either of the above two scenarios. Afterwards, the only things you need are willpower and time; for the rest there's Capetan.club.
Through us you have access to a sailing school to get a skipper's licence RYA Day Skipper and a school for the ICC (licence through our local partners), after which you get the weeks of practice needed to acquire the vital knowledge to ensure a stress-free and fully controlled week of sailing with your family or friends. After all, getting your sailing licence is a mere formality, it's what's next that really counts and the value is where you get involved by gaining experience and confidence.
