We all dream of sailing weeks in Greece, France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, but many of you don't have the necessary information so it's clear where to start and what steps to take. This is one of the main reasons why Capetan exists.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Capetan currently has two ways for you, the reader, to take the first step in this new challenge. Our school offers both the RYA Competent Crew or Day Skipper sailing courses and the ICC courses with an ANR licence. The first difference is that, for the RYA sailing licence, the school is done in one of our partner centres, located in Kavala, Athens and Barcelona, while for the ICC licence the courses are done in Romania with our partners from Seanergya.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An inside joke says that we Capetans are like Switzerland, i.e. impartial and equidistant. We never put ourselves in the position of telling you what to do; we're the ones who give you the details, and the decision is yours. We are most interested that you feel comfortable with the decision you have made, because only then is the learning process truly progressive and adapted to your own style and character. So, we are not going to tell you that the RYA sailing school is better than the ICC sailing school, but rather present both to you so that you can make an informed decision.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/capetan.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/cursuri-RYA-romania-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19298\" srcset=\"https:\/\/capetan.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/cursuri-RYA-romania-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/capetan.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/cursuri-RYA-romania-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/capetan.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/cursuri-RYA-romania-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/capetan.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/cursuri-RYA-romania.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-permisul-de-navigatie-rya\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/capetan.club\/en\/rya-day-skipper-sailing-licence\/\">RYA Sailing Permit<\/a><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I will refer strictly to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rya.org.uk\/training\/courses\/day-skipper-practical-sailing-course-dss\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">RYA Day Skipper<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> because Competent Crew does not give you the legal right to charter a sailboat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The price starts from 780 EURO and includes the theoretical support, the sailing courses to be worked on during the course week; it also includes breakfast and non-alcoholic drinks on the boat, bedding\/towels, diesel and marina fees for the training week. Basically, it still includes your trip to the marina and meals in taverns and restaurants.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The RYA Day Skipper sailing course takes place over five days, during which time everything happens on the boat; that means you eat and breathe the boat from start to finish.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On a typical day at this sailing school, the first part is devoted to theory, followed by hours of practical work on the newly learned theory, with the last part of the day also devoted to theory. The typical schedule is from 09:00 to 20:00. During the 5 days of school there will be a mandatory night passage. The trainer is 100% present and watching you! Why. Because in the RYA Sailing School, for this level, there is no actual exam, but a continuous assessment is carried out on the basis of which, at the end of the 5 days of courses, a \"pass\" or \"fail\" grade is awarded.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/capetan.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/scoala-navigatie-romania-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/capetan.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/scoala-navigatie-romania-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/capetan.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/scoala-navigatie-romania-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/capetan.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/scoala-navigatie-romania-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/capetan.club\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/scoala-navigatie-romania.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cursurile-de-navigatie-pentru-examenul-anr-de-ob\u021binere-a-permisului-de-barca-d-c-s\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/capetan.club\/en\/international-icc-c-d-s\/\">Sailing courses for the ANR exam for obtaining the D\/C\/S boat licence<\/a>&nbsp;<\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ICC in short, it represents the plastic issued by the ANR following the theoretical training and the exam taken in one of the Romanian captaincies.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the help of our partner <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/seanergya.ro\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Seanergya <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, you have the option of acquiring this booklet without having to leave home for a whole week. The course is structured as follows: theory over four days in a classroom, followed by practice in the Black Sea and an exam at the captain's office.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The course structure includes topics similar to the RYA Sailing School: boat building, motorboat handling, seamanship, legislation, navigation, water communications, sailboat handling. In addition to the RYA, emphasis is also placed on inland water and canal navigation (Delta - Black Sea). There are 5 days of theory conveniently spread over several weeks, 3 days of practice on the Black Sea (which you can spend entirely on the boat - only Seanergya offers this option). and the practical exam supervised by the ANR. The costs are around 650 EURO and do not include the examination fees at the skipper's office and the fees for issuing the actual licence.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In conclusion, which is better? Well, the best is the one that suits you best! You work from 9 to 5 and can't leave the country for holiday or family reasons? ICC may be the answer for you. Are you flexible with your time and would you like to do an English course with a Greek, English or Romanian trainer in Kavala, Athens or Barcelona? Then the RYA Day Skipper sailing licence is the solution for you.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, as in any training or learning process, don't forget that you are working with \"client material\", so no matter how good the two sailing schools are, if you don't take an interest and actively participate in the training, theory and practice, your time and initiative goes down the drain.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If there are any other questions that we have not
