The perfect bag for a week of sailing practice with Capetan Club: the wise student's guide
Hello, dear sailing enthusiasts and sea enthusiasts! If you are ready to venture into a week of intensive sailing practice with Capetan Club, then you have made a great decision for developing your skippering skills. Team Capetan Club is here to provide you with a memorable experience and valuable lessons in safe navigation on the water.
Before setting off on this nautical adventure, you should make sure your luggage is ready for any challenge you may encounter at sea. Here's a list of the basics you should have in your luggage for a practice week sailing with Capetan Club.
First make sure that the luggage you are about to take with you is flexible and easily compactable. It is not advisable to bring trolleys or hard suitcases.
Something else to consider: at this level you don't need to invest in high profile equipment, you have a lifetime of skippering ahead of you where you can buy equipment as and when you need it. Any sport/mountain equipment will cope with a normal week of practice and if a different week is announced, we will let you know in advance and adapt.
- Lightweight, multi-layered garments so you can adjust your clothing according to temperature
- Raincoats and waterproof jackets to protect you from splashing water and wind.
- Comfortable footwear with non-slip, non-marking soles for safety on deck. Preferably have two pairs of footwear : one for day - which can get wet and one for leisure. It is ideal to be dry and comfortable at all times.
- And yes, no need for sailing gloves in practice!
- If you know you're ultra frigid, it doesn't hurt to have a summer sleeping bag .
- A frontal - especially recommended for HOPA and MB.
- Usual personal medication.
- A hat or cap and don't forget the SPF50 sunscreen!
- Insurance medical
- Personal documents (identity card, passport, driving licence)
- Cash and credit cards for additional expenses
- Change of clothes for the whole week
- Personal hygiene products (toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc.)
Sailing is an art, and your week of practice with Capetan Club will be full of adventure and new challenges. Make sure you have all of this in your bag and are ready for a safe and memorable sailing experience.
We look forward to seeing you on the pier and exploring the beauty of the sea together!
